Ray E. Robinson went to be with his Lord on February 15, 2011. He is survived by his children Diana Frederic of Colorado Springs, Dan (Alice) Robinson of Colorado Springs, and Mary (Gary) Lewis of Cortez, CO. Ray was preceded in death by his wife Susie, his parents Charles E. and Mary C. Robinson, and one brother Fred Robinson. Ray was born February 13, 1930 in Colorado Springs at Bethel (Memorial) Hospital. He graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1948 and the graduated from University of Colorado with a degree in business. Ray served in the Naval Reserve for 8 years, worked at Colorado Springs National Bank for 16 years, and was instrumental in founding Western National Bank in Colorado Springs. In January 1973 Ray moved to Pueblo to become the President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Centennial Bank of Pueblo and Bank of Blende, which he founded. Ray was a devoted Mason from 1955 to the present and he presided as Past Master of El Paso Lodge#13 and Past Wise Master of Colorado Consistory #1. He was awarded his KCCH in 1994 as a 32nd degree Mason. Ray was also a member of the Al Kaly Shrine. In his “spare time” he served as: President of Junior Achievement of Colorado Springs; Boy Scouts Executive Board 1974; Highland Park Baptist Church Moderator of Colorado Springs area; First Baptist Church of Pueblo Deacon and Trustee, two terms; President of Southern Colorado Bankers Association. He loved playing golf, drinking coffee, and telling jokes with his golf “buddies”. Cremation in Davis Crematory. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at First Baptist Church, 405 W. 9th, in Pueblo. He will be laid to rest in peace beside his loving wife Susie following a graveside service in Providence, KY at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ray Robinson may be made to the American Cancer Society or The Alzheimer’s Association.
