Charles Thomas Edward Wagner

Sir Charles Thomas Edward Wagner, heavy on the sir, was born April 7, 1927 and went to be with the Lord on August 21, 2011 after a lengthy illness. Tommy as he was called by his family, lived in the same house in Pueblo for 69 years. As a teenager Tommy worked for the packing house as a head man. He went into the Navy at age 18 and was stationed on the U.S.S. Cook APD 130 attack personnel destroyer as a fireman. After the war, Tommy worked for White & Davis doing window displays. In 1953 Tommy started work for the Southern Colorado Power Company and retired from there after 32 years of service. He was involved with the YWCA and swam daily for 20+ years until at the age of 80, when his health failed him. He was a member of the Penguins that remain active today. Tommy enjoyed his cigars, motorcycles and fishing. He never met a stranger addressing all he met with “how you doing kid?” Tommy had many sayings including “you do the best you can, at the time, under the circumstances, with the knowledge you have” and “happy is a man who is content with his lot”. He was certainly content and happy and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and two brothers. His survivors include his sisters, Frances McArthur, of Roseburg, OR and Pearl Martin, of Las Cruses, NM. At his request, cremation has taken place. His remains will be laid to rest in the family plot at Imperial Memorial Gardens. Online condolences at DavisMortuary.com
