Gundel Paula Popp

Gundel Paula Popp, age 85, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 13, 2011. Gundel was born in Bochum, Germany on Dec. 13, 1926, to Otto and Paula Dubielzig. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Robert Popp; brother Norbert Dubielzig; grandmother Paula Korfmann ; Aunt Else Walter and Uncle Alfred Walter; nephew Westley Popp; special cousin Norbert Kaiser and Miela Kaiser. Gundel is survived by her sons; Norbert (Marion Orr)and James (Shirley); granddaughter, Erika (Dan) Tran, and grandson, Robbie (fiancée Megan Hutchins) Popp; great grandson Caden Tran; brother, Walter Dubielzig; sister, Marlies Burkpile; nieces and nephews, (Mildred) Popp, Joy (Dan) Steckman, Peggy (Louis) Fass, Bill McDougal, Richard McDougal, Randy (Shirley) Miller, Becky (Brian) Houser, David Ragulsky, Walter Dubielzig, Mike (Laura) Popp, Mark (Cheryl) Popp, Debbie (Pat) Swagerty, Rodney Steckman, Danny (Mitzi) Steckman, Vallee Newton, Dana Cunningham, Erin Cunningham, Alan Fass and Alison Beery; German relatives Peter (Ute) Kaiser, Rainer Kaiser. Gundel was a devoted wife and homemaker. She was active member of Beta Sigma Phi and received the Diamond Circle Certificate for 61 years of service, also an active member in the Pueblo Chapter #7, Order of Eastern Star and the Pueblo German Club. She loved to bake, crochet and knit. The family will greet friends at the mortuary from 2 until 4 PM on Friday. Graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, Dec 17, 2011 in the Mountain View Cemetery with memorial rites by Beta Sigma Phi and Pueblo Chapter #7, Order of the Eastern Star. A reception will follow from 2 until 4 pm at Park Hill Christian Church, 1401 E. 7th. In lieu of food and flowers, those who desire may make donations in memory of Gundel to either the Sangre De Cristo Hospice or the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority through Davis Mortuary.
