Ronald “Bud” Atkinson, 91, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jan. 25, 2012. Bud was a longtime Pueblo resident and though he only achieved an 8th grade education in school, he excelled as a General Contractor for over 35 years, building many of the homes in Pueblo and the surrounding area. He also helped build homes in Aspen and on the Western Slope. He served in the Army during World War II in the Aleutian Islands. Bud was a 50 year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 145 in Pueblo where he volunteered much of his time after he retired. One of his greatest joys was raising miniature horses with his wife on the Mesa. He was preceded in death by his wife Geraldean, former wife Kathryn Fearn, and daughter Audrey. He is survived by daughters Linda (Ken) Ready, Marsha (Bob) Hill, sons Ronald Atkinson, Gary (Beverly) Fearn, as well as a large loving family of brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Mr. Atkinson will lie in state at the mortuary from 10:00am to 7:00pm today. Funeral Service will be held at Temple Baptist Church 3030 Thatcher Ave on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012 at 11:00am with interment following at Roselawn. Following the service and interment, Bud’s family invites all who knew him to a reception at Temple Baptist Church.
