Lawrence C. Decker, 70, passed away unexpectedly April 5, 2012 in Pueblo, Colorado. Larry was born in Lewistown, Montana to Ira and Frances Decker, attended school and grew up in Billings, Montana and had lived in Pueblo since 1970. For many years, Larry worked in the wholesale paper industry and was currently proprietor of Columbine/Gallaten Industries. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1959 thru 1965. Larry was a member of American Legion Post #207 and was active in many areas including 40/8 and was currently serving as Sr. Vice Commander for the Colorado Department of American Legion. He participated in many Veterans activities and organizations for many years. Through these activities, he made many lasting and cherished friends. Larry is survived by his wife Joan, whom he married on July 24, 1964; his daughters, Brenda and Sara; a brother, Jim (Nancy) Decker of AZ; brothers-in-law, Robert Flugstad, Ron Flugstad and Randy Flugstad, all of OR. He was a proud grandfather to Kayleigh and Antonia Guadagnoli and Alexandria Decker. Numerous cousins and nephews including Scott (Michelle) Decker also survive. Mr. Decker will lie in state from 4 pm until 7 pm Friday at the mortuary. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 14, 2012 in the First Presbyterian Church, 220 W. 10th Street. Interment will follow in the Imperial Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the American Legion Post #170 Honor Guard. Please make donations in memory of Larry to the charity of your choice.
