Clayton Wills Paynter passed away May 7, 2008 in Pueblo, Colorado. Mr. Paynter was born on June 1, 1931 in Clark County, Kentucky to Clarence Prestidge Paynter and Minerva Louann Haggard Paynter. He was a graduate of Winchester High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Kentucky in 1958. He served in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged on Dec 17, 1954. He worked within the Aerospace industry with McDonnell/Douglas/Boeing for thirty two years and NASA for six years. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Clarence Prestidge Paynter, Jr. His survivors include his wife of fifty-five years, Betty G. Paynter, of Pueblo, their five children: Mitchell (Risa) Paynter, of Alabama, Steve (Char) Paynter, of Arizona, Cheryl (Bill) Nance, of California, Elizabeth (Don) Rawdon, of Pueblo and Donna (Roberto) Gonzales, of California, as well as 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. In loving remembrance, he was a very devoted husband and father who has given his family a lifetime of cherished memories.
