James Larkin Olivas, departed peacefully on Dec 29, 2013 with close family and friends at his side. He was born in Pueblo on Nov 27, 1946 to Tony and Rose Olivas. Jim was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Vietnam War. He worked at the Rocky Flats Nuclear Weapons Plant in Boulder before his retirement. Jim was preceded in death by his father Tony; nephew, Roman Nava; father-in-law, Walter Eddy, Sr.; mother-in-law, Nancy Eddy and his brother-in-law, Walter Eddy, Jr.. Jim is survived by his wife Erni with whom he celebrated 45 years of marriage in 2013; his sons, James Larkin (Erin), Joshua, Jonathan and Caleb; his mother, Rose; brothers, Del (Joyce) and John (Toni); sisters, Aggie (Robert) Nava, Sharon (Randy Vialpando) Gabaldon and Debbie (George) Alfaro; brother-in-law, Carl; sisters-in-law, Frances, Esther, Betty and Weona as well as numerous other relatives. Viewing will begin at 10 am on Thursday, January 2, at the Sacred Heart Church, 210 Highway 50 East in Avondale, followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Cremation will follow.
