Iris A. Lara

Iris Avon Becher Lara went peacefully to be with the Lord on April 21, 2015 and now there's another beautiful flower blooming in Heaven! Iris was born on October 4, 1930 in Pueblo, Colorado, and was raised in Apache and Rye, Colorado. Iris was a devoted loving wife and mother, always thinking of others before herself. She exemplified a wonderful Christian spirit by being loving, friendly and generous with everyone. She encouraged, inspired, and uplifted many people through her card ministry. Her home was always full of fun, family, and friends. She had a great sense of humor and kept everyone laughing up to her passing. She worked as a cook, sales clerk, instructional aide, school secretary and attendance clerk, but her most cherished role was that of wife and mother. She is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Patrick Lara; her four daughters, Kathleen Holm, Kristie McMahon, Lori Lara, Linda Holden; her eight grandchildren, Daniel and Patrick Holm; Wade, Grant, Garrett, and Lindsay Holden; Jason and Aaron McMahon; her eight greatgrandchildren, Jayshawn, Denege, Tejia, and Abigail McMahon; Noah, Elijah, Abraham, and Lucille Holm. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 11am at King of Kings Lutheran Church, 2561 Vinewood Lane, Pueblo, Colorado. Memorial gifts may be made to: American Heart Association, Special Olympics, and/or Sangre de Cristo Hospice House in Pueblo. Online condolences at DavisMortuary.com
