Richard Leroy Bononcini passed away Jan 11, 2009 in Pueblo. Richard was born June 6, 1937 in Blackfoot, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents Mildred and Arthur Bononcini. Richard grew up on the Mesa in Pueblo before serving his country in the US Air Force. He loved people, volunteered himself for numerous community outreach centers. He loved to buy and sell various items from yard sales and flea markets as well as educating people on nutrition and how to live with disabilities. Richard also enjoyed the outdoors which led him into becoming a beekeeper, organic gardener and avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed square dancing, golfing, rodeos, Bronco games and making people laugh. His survivors include his children, Scott Bononcini, of Pueblo, Susan (Steve) Chryst and Terena Terrell as well as his grandchildren, Nicholas and Julianne, Sean, Serena, Scott and Sadie. Richard is also survived by Virginia Barragree, his ex-wife and special friend, his "sister" Evelyn (Terry) Blaher, Johnny Blaher and Sherry Blaher. A celebration of Richard’s life will be held on his birthday, June 6, 2009. The family suggests that those wishing to do so would make a contribution in Richard’s name to the Soup Kitchen, S.R.D.A. (Meals on Wheels), to Friendly Harbour or simply to plant a tree in his memory.
