Velma R. Elliott passed away Feb 19, 2009 in Pueblo. Velma was born Sept 23, 1916 in Pueblo to Arthur and Katherine Samples. She was employed as the secretary at Hellbeck Elementary School for 20 years before her retirement. Velma was a member of the First Baptist Church where she served as a Deaconess, taught Sunday School and belonged to the Christian Challengers group. She was preceded in death by her husband Lindell in 2006, son Ronald in 2007, parents and 2 brothers. Velma is survived by her daughter Martha Nelson; daughter-in-law Connie Elliott; grandchildren Robin, Kathy, Chad and Todd; great grandchildren Tyler, Lindsey, Joe, Jack, Colin and Aidan; nieces, Karen Parker, Kay Elliott, Marilyn Moran, Barbara DeLeal, Diana King, Lorraine Williams; nephews, David Samples, Paul Elliott and Warren Elliott as well as well as numerous great nieces, great nephews and other relatives. Funeral service, 11 am, Tuesday, February 24, First Baptist Church, 9th & Grand Ave., with Rev. Frank Proffer officiating. Interment, Imperial Cemetery
