Doris Louise “Pudge” Higgins went to be with her Lord and savior April 23, 2009. She was born July 14, 1938 in Drumright, OK. Doris and her husband Herbert met in Drumright and moved to Pueblo in the mid 1950’s, where he retired from CF&I after 37 years. Doris loved to be with her friends and family. Her house was not just a house, it was a home and everyone was greeted with a warm smile. She faithfully attended Praise Assembly of God for 21 years. Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Herbert W. Higgins, parents Clarence “Babe” and Dora Poulter, brother Virgil “Ikey” Poulter and sister Gold Ruth “Toots” Poulter. She is survived by her sons; Robert (Deanna), Jimmy, Dennis (Carla), Philip (Suzie) Higgins, grandchildren; Amber, Misty, Jessica, Brandalin and Wyatt Higgins. Step-grandchildren; Stephan (Lisa) Vandekop, Victoria Keeth, James (Veronica) Trujillo, Andrea Trujillo, brothers and sisters; Clarence “Cody” Poulter, Jacqueline “Jody” White, Laquita “Quite” Imblum, brother-in-law Kenneth (Sharron) Johnson as well as many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives. Doris will be sadly missed by friends and family, but will always be in our hearts. At her request, no viewing. Cremation has taken place. Graveside services will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 in the Imperial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Sangre de Cristo Hospice.
