Byron Tucker, 70, passed away May 2, 2009 in Pueblo after bravely battling cancer for over a year. Byron was a lifelong educator with a career spanning more than three decades as a public school principal in Jefferson County. Byron loved gardening, hiking, cooking and traveling, but his greatest joy was his family. His survivors include his wife Eva; children, Bob Tucker and Elizabeth Van Beek; three stepchildren, Christine Beard, Kim Kennedy and Scott Beard as well as 8 grandchildren and his sister Ginny Watkins. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 6:30 pm on Saturday, May 9, at the Church of the Ascension and Holy Trinity, 420 W. 18th Street. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the CASA, a non-profit child protection organization in your community.organization.
