Armitta Ruth Medill passed away September 6, 2016 in Peoria, Arizona. She was born on April 25, 1923 in Pueblo to William Paul and Marguerite B. Cremean. Ruth held many interesting jobs including newspaper reporter, real estate agent, insurance agent and homemaker. During WWII, she was a “Rosie the Riveter” working in San Diego, California installing windows in the bombers. She married Earl Ralph Medill on October 26, 1941. She was a member of Eastern Star, Chapter #7, American Legion Auxiliary, Post 115, Fairway China Club, Rye Home United Methodist Church and affiliate member of First United Methodist Church in Sun City, AZ. She enjoyed traveling, cross-stitching, sewing and reading. She was also a very accomplished artist having won many awards for her china painting including State Fair Grand Champion. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Earl in 1998. Ruth is survived by her daughters, Elaine (Jerry) Holiday, of Madera, California and Esther (James) Spradlin, of Dewey, Arizona; her grandchildren, Doug (Leslie) Holiday, Derek(Sarah) Holiday, James Jr. (Rhonda) Spradlin, Mathew (Annette) Spradlin; 8 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Cremation has taken place and she was laid to rest next to Earl in the Brookside Cemetery in Rye, Colorado. Graveside services were held on Monday October 10, 2016.
