Kenneth F. VanPelt, Sr. passed away Aug 22, 2009 in Pueblo. He was born Oct 30, 1922 in Artesian, SD to Owen and Vera VanPelt. He retired as a Chief Petty Officer after a 20 year Naval Career. He was a member of Silver State Lodge #95 AF&AM, the American Legion, the Survivors of the Hornet and T.R.E.A. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and watching western movies. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Alice and his brother Don. His survivors include his children, Ken (Jean) VanPelt and Diana (Randy) Kelley; his grandchildren, Mallory, Lucas, Sheila (Kevin) and Tracy (Brian); his great-grandchildren, Danielle, Joshua and Jason; one brother, Glenn VanPelt; 2 sisters, Maxine (Don) Stephens and Betty Lou (Bob) Cook as well as numerous nieces nephews and other relatives. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 in the Davis Memorial Chapel with Reverend Dr. Rick Calhoun, of the First United Methodist Church, officiating and Masonic Memorial Rites by Silver State Lodge #95 AF&AM.
