F. Duane Dutton died peacefully on December 19, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born May 30, 1947 in Parsons, Kansas, Duane grew up in Pueblo and graduated from Pueblo South High School in 1965. He attended Southern Colorado State College and the University of Hawaii while serving in the Air Force. He began his 40 year career in the food safety industry at Alpha Beta Packing Plant and most recently worked for DCS Contract Cleaners and Mossberg, Inc. Duane’s passion for inventing led to numerous patents for food processing equipment. Duane is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Janice Fedde Dutton; his mother Lois Dutton; two sisters, Carolyn (Bob) Schweickert and Sharon (Rick) Donaher, all of Canon City; his son Brian and grandchildren, Dominic, Anastasia and Maryia, all of Pueblo. He also leaves behind his special “almost brother” Rich Burleson, of Florence. A celebration of Duane’s life will be held at 10 am on Thursday, December 24th at King of Kings Lutheran Church, 2561 Vinewood Blvd, with Reverend Mark J. Crates officiating. In lieu of food or flowers, donations can be made to the King of Kings Building Campaign in Duane’s name through the church or mortuary.
