John L. Pim passed away April 18, 2010 in Pueblo. John was born in 1915 in Saguache, Colorado to Leslie and Margaret Pim. As a teenager, John assisted his father in running telephone lines in the Pagosa Springs area. During the Depression he worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps in southern Colorado and Arizona building roads and running phone lines. Instead of joining the military during WWII, he worked at Lockheed in Burbank, CA where he worked as an electrician on military aircraft. After the war he worked for more than 30 years as a civil engineer for the Colorado Department of Highways. He is survived by his wife of more than 70 years, Trudy Pim, his son, John (Cornelia) and his daughter Carla. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, April 25, at Central Christian Church, 1902 N. Hudson Ave. with Rev. Dr David Chambers officiating. Interment of John’s ashes will be in the family plot in Del Norte, CO at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to Central Christian Church.
