Syl J. Shipman passed away July 10, 2010 in Pueblo West. Syl was born May 27, 1934 in Penrose, CO to Charlie and Pansy Shipman. He attended both Penrose and Florence High Schools before starting a career as the Roto-Rooter franchisee in the Larimer County area for 35 years. He returned to this area and settled in Pueblo West in 2004. He had a passion for the restoration of antique cars and loved animals of all kinds. Syl was ever generous and always willing to assist the down trodden. It seems as though he had never met a stranger. Mr. Shipman was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Sally Lang. He was a devoted family man and will be greatly missed by his survivors which include his wife Patricia Shipman of Pueblo West, children Marie Manbeck of Co. Springs, Sandra Shipman of MO, John Kamm of Brighton, Jerre Kamm of Ft. Collins, former wife JoAnn Shipman of CA, grandchildren, Amanda, Zachery, Justin, Travis and Trevor, a great granddaughter Lilly and three sisters, Ruby Thomas, Lois Bernard and Charlene Roemish all of Pueblo as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. Cremation in the Davis Crematory. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 1:00 PM in the Davis Memorial Chapel. Inurnment will take place in the Beaver Park Cemetery.
