Jennifer D. Hudgens passed away July 10, 2010 as the result of a tragic accident in Greeley, CO. Jenn was born May 6, 1987 in Pueblo and was a 2005 graduate of East High School where she excelled in the classroom, at softball and basketball. She was currently a student at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. Jenn was pursuing a double major in elementary education and physical education. She was just 3 weeks from fulfilling one of her dreams and becoming a student teacher. Jennifer was preceded in death by her grandparents Robert E. and Ruth Hudgens. Her survivors include her parents Robert and Cheryl Hudgens; sisters, Kylie and Kristyn; her dogs, Buster and Peanut; grandparents, John and Mildred Friend; uncles, Jim Friend and Tom Friend; aunts, Barbara Howard, Beverly (Roy) Carver and Connie Baker; cousins, Robert Rodasta, Sean (Jessica) Howard, Kaitlan (Lanny) Lollar, Christopher (Michelle) Baker, Jeremy Baker, Gary Baker, Kristi (Dave) Laframboise and Jason (Rachel) Carver, her best friends Megan Peterson, Jeremy Foreman, Ashley Ferris, Ana Salas and her triathlon buddy Laci Conour. Survivors also include numerous friends and her Visionworks family. Jennifer will lie in state at the mortuary from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until Noon on Thursday. Funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 15, 2010 in the First United Methodist Church, 310 W. 11th in Pueblo. In celebration of her life the Hudgens family asks that you please wear pink or brightly colored clothing to honor Jenn’s cheerful, bright hearted love and spirited personality. Cremation will follow in the Davis Crematory. Donations in Jenn’s memory may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation or to the Jennifer Hudgens Memorial Scholarship Fund through Wells Fargo Bank. This scholarship will be awarded to a student at the University of Northern Colorado who will be beginning their student teaching. Donations may be made directly or through the mortuary.
