On May 26, 2018, Dallas Michael Parga, age 69, passed away as a result of injuries sustained in a single vehicle motorcycle accident. Mike was a dedicated father and friend to many. He was born in Pueblo to Leslie J. and Catherine (Pickering) Parga. He was their third of five children, and their only son. Mike attended local Pueblo schools and graduated from Central High School in 1967. Mike was a gifted machinist and was a proud third generation steel worker at CF&I Steel. He was also a dedicated union supporter and was active in the strike. He worked for a number of different machine shops in Denver and Colorado Springs, before his retirement. After he retired, he started his own Handy Man Service for several years. Mike loved to tinker with cars, motorcycles, and just generally keep busy. He especially enjoyed remodeling his home. His joy and sense of freedom came from riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He was a man of deep and abiding faith. Mike was very active and involved with his church, King of Kings Lutheran, where he was a Stephen Minister, and he served his church with humble joy. Mike married Linda Evans in 1970 and this union produced John (Sharon) of Denver, CO. and Lori Gillam (Lennie) of Craig, CO. They divorced and later he married Kathy (Wood) Parga in 1983 and this union produced Alyssa (Greg Rodriguez) of Pueblo. In addition to his children, Mike leaves behind his beloved grandchildren Stephanie Montgomery (Chris), of Laramie WY, Theoron Parga, Denver, CO, Styles Rodriguez, Pueblo, CO Ravyn Martinez, Pueblo CO, his future grandbaby, due in October, and his dog, Petey. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his older sister Suzie. His survivors, besides his children, are his sisters Mary (Don) Garcia, Fort Collins, Co; Elaine (Bill) Hemphill, Boulder, Co.; Leslie Anne (John) Marcantonio, Longmont, CO., and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Dallas had a huge heart, never met a stranger, and believed that we receive peace in exchange for helping others. Services for Dallas will be held at King of Kings Lutheran Church, 2561 Vinewood Ln., on Monday, June 4, 2018 at 2:00 pm.
