Dr. Melvin C. Withnell

Dr. Melvin C. Withnell passed away, July 26, 2023 in Pueblo, Colorado.   Mel was born on June 1, 1930 in Jud, North Dakota to Thomas and Mabel Withnell.  Dr. Withnell was a teacher and professor of mathematics and was the University of Southern Colorado Math Dept Chair when he retired. 

Mel was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son and an infant daughter.  He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 63 years LeeAnn; children Gary (Lois) Withnell, Carmen (Bob) Neevel, James (Naomi) Withnell, Vickie Hartley (David Haakana), Bret (Jamie) Withnell; 3 sisters, Verla, Viola and Della Mae; his grandchildren, Madison, Xander and Xoe Withnell, Amy (John) Wolfe, Rachelle Schmitz, Nick Withnell, Emily (Sam) Twedt, Krista (Jesse) Hartley, Jaymie Hartley, Jayson (Samantha) Hartley, Andrea (Mike) Dobblemann and Mike (Lydia) Withnell;  his great grandchildren, Kailey Wolfe, Bryce Wolfe, Colton Schmitz, Jaxon Schmitz, McKenzie Schmitz, Lexi Schmitz, Lauren Withnell, Leo Withnell, Miles Dobblemann, Lacey Dobblemann, Nora Twedt, Bryn Twedt, Eden Twedt, Wyatt Twedt, D.J. Hartley, Austin Hartley, Emma Hartley, Reign Hartley, Mason Hartley and Brody Hartley as well as several nieces, nephews and other relatives. 

Visitation for Dr. Withnell will be from 4:00 until 7 :00 PM on Tuesday, Aug 1^st, at the Davis Mortuary.   Funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, Aug 2^nd in the Davis Memorial Chapel with entombment following in the Roselawn Cemetery.
