Ernest T. Ulery went to be with the Lord on January 5, 2025. Ernest was predeceased by his parents Laurence and Fanny Ulery and his mother and father in law Roy and Mary Etta Swallow along with his daughter Brenda Sue Belcher and granddaughter, Lisa Horne. He is also predecease by his brothers Ronald (Jean) Ulery; Fred (Carol) Ulery; Norman Ulery; Byron Ulery; also his sister in laws Doris (Dennis) Powers and Ruth (Jerry) Belveal.
Ernest is survived by the love of his life his wife of 67 years, Alice Ulery; his children Bill (Carolyn) Ulery and Donna (Chuck Martellaro) Ulery. Survived by grandchildren Jeremy (Mindi) Ulery; Jimmy (Amanda) Ulery; Amanda Belcher; Ted Belcher; Crystal Ulery; Nick Ulery; Kevin Horne Jr. Great Grandchildren: Savanna (Anthony) Zollner; William Ulery; Hunter Ulery; James Ulery; Ryan Ulery; Denizah Belcher; Devon Alires; Arviella Dagendash; Skyler Topance; Leighla Watt-Ulery; Corena Ulery; and Kevin Horne III. Great great grandchildren Ashlin Zollner; Spencer Zollner; and Oakley Olson. He is also survived by his brother Dale (Virginia) Ulery; sister in laws Myrna Ulery, Shirley Ulery, Barbara Cox, brother in law Richard (Vicky) Swallow; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Ernest was born on November 22, 1936 in Vroman, Colorado. He worked on the family farm with his father and 5 brothers while growing up in Rocky Ford. He graduated from Rocky Ford High School in 1954 then he attended Otero Junior College receiving an Associates Degree. During one of his trips to Holbroak Lake he met the love of his life, Alice Swallow and went on to marry her on November 28, 1957. They moved to Pueblo where he went to work at Southern Colorado Power Company and later retired from Black Hills Energy. During Ernest’s adult life he was a Master of the Silver State #95 Lodge and a Master of Greenhorn Valley Lodge. He enjoyed participating in the Masonic play “Rose Upon the Alter” and enjoyed when his family came to watch. After his retirement he became a part owner in the “Sports Hut” bait store and also prepared tax returns for H&R Block along with SRDA. Although Ernest spent the last 34 months of is life in bed he developed a sense of humor with his caretakers which included his wife, Alice Ulery; daughter Donna Ulery; Hospice nurses Natasha Ramos and Leana Brown.
Visitation for Mr. Ulery will be held Monday, January 13, 2025 from noon to 5:00 pm at the mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at 11:00 am in the Davis Memorial Chapel, 128 Broadway Ave, Pueblo, Colorado Graveside services with Masonic Burial Rites by Silver State Lodge #95 AF&AM will follow at Imperial Memorial Gardens.
