Frances Nettie Garbiso was born on June 3, 1924 to Eustaquio and Elvira (Vigil) Ribali and lost her battle to dementia/ Alzheimer at her daughter Barbara and son-in-law Ray’s home in Walsenburg, CO, on February 19, 2018 at the age of 93, just four months before her June birthday. Frances was born on her parent’s farm east of Walsenburg, CO, approximately twenty miles east-northeast of Highway 10, close to the Cucharas Dam. Frances attended a one room school house on Highway 10 east of Walsenburg, until the eighth grade. She was a member of the Catholic Church and Eagles. She was married to Clodovio Garbiso on October 13, 1944 in Walsenburg, CO. She enjoyed dancing to Mexican music, cooking for her family, family events, baking, canning and would do anything for her kids and family, whom she loved very much. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed knitting, sewing, and crocheting. She was preceded in death by her baby son, Samuel C. Garbiso; parents, husband, brother Jesus (Jess), and daughter Irene Medina. She is survived by her children, Larry Garbiso, Cobie Garbiso (Carole), Barbara Trujillo (Ray); son-in-law Arthur (Cookie) Medina; eight grandsons, three granddaughters, nine great grandsons, and 10 great granddaughters. A visitation will be held in Pueblo at Davis Mortuary, 128 Broadway Ave., from 2-7 pm on Friday, February 23. Funeral Services will be celebrated on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at St. Mary Church in Walsenburg, CO, with Rosary at 10 am, and Mass at 10:30 am. Burial will follow at Valdez Cemetery, 6 miles east of Walsenburg on Highway 10. Immediately following is a reception and celebration of Frances’s life, at the Huerfano County Community Center at 10th and Russell in Walsenburg.
