Jerry Alan Irick

Jerry Alan Irick was born to Travis Wayne Irick and Judith Ann Hess on March 22, 1962 in Hannibal, Missouri. His passing occurred on January 6, 2025 in Colorado City, Colorado.

Jerry was preceded in death by Merle Eugene Hess (Grandfather), Mary Wilson (Hess) (Grandmother), Harry Virgil Irick (Grandfather), Mayme Irick-Page-Liebrock (Grandmother), Travis Wayne Irick (Father), Judith Ann Hess (Mother) and Merle Thomas Irick (Brother).

He leaves behind a daughter, Elicia Deanne Clark (Irick), Billy Clark (son-in-law) and two grand-children who he loved dearly, Madelynne “Maddie” Clark and Robbie Clark, and two brothers, Terry Wayne Irick and Glenn Alvin Irick, along with five nieces and a nephew.

Jerry lived in Missouri most of his life, but spent some time when younger in Iowa and most recently some time living and working in Colorado. He was employed by the Pueblo, Colorado County Department of Transportation driving and operating their heavy equipment. 

His longtime involvement with the Hannibal Jaycees speaks volumes about his enjoyment, the relationships and the friendships there. He became an elected official to serve the residents of Hannibal as a member of the Hannibal Ambulance Board.

Jerry had many skills and hobbies. His favorite pastime was the outdoors. Motorcycling, fishing and hunting in particular. Given the many stories of both successes and failures in these endeavors were proof in the purity of his love for it. Fifty plus years he could be found either going or planning to go out to do one or the other. He was no stranger to hard work, nor was he afraid of it. He was a protector of the weak and a giver to those in need. He cherished the Honor Flight escorting he had done so many times. 

Jerry loved his family and helped in the long-term care of his parents. But he most loved his daughter Elicia and her two beautiful children. 

That companionship. That love. That friendship. The smirk. That grin… all will be missed. “Mean Uncle Jerry” has passed, but who he was is what legends are made of and will always be here.

A memorial service for Jerry is being planned the weekend of March 22, 2025 in Hannibal, Missouri with details TBD.
