She was born in WaKenney, Kansas on May 14, 1939 to Earl and Katherine Coleman. She married Jack Eugene Riggio on July 21, 1957 in Pueblo, Colorado and they were fortunate to spend 66 years together.
Family and friends were extremely important in her life. She will be remembered as a giving and caring person, a shoulder to lean on and an ear for guidance and advice. Her great love of gardening, sewing and art will be remembered by all those who loved and knew her. Kay enjoyed crafting hand-quilted banners for her church sanctuary. She also made individualized quilts for each great-grandchild, as well as championship blankets for Greyhound Racing across the country.
Family traditions were always special around the holidays. Kay was an excellent baker of great cookies, cakes and potica. Kay’s Christmas decorations were one of a kind.
Kay was preceded in death by three siblings; Kemper, Gene, and Donald Coleman.
