Lance Dee Dilka was born in Abilene, Texas on October 9, 1952. He spent most of his life living in Pueblo, Colorado before his passing on May 21, 2020 following a brief illness. He was 67 years old.
Lance was quite a character----a very good man with a big heart. He was a very private person, but cared very deeply for his loved ones and close friends. He graduated from Pueblo East High School in 1971. While in high school, he met the love of his life, Debra K. McAlister. Lance and Debbie were married in 1973. Their special bond was unique, as those close to them truly know. They wee married for 47 years prior to Lance’s passing. Lance spent his professional career as an electrician, while enjoying his hobbies of team roping and hunting throughout certain portions of his life. Lance’s wit, humor, and teasing nature were a trademark of most of his interactions with people. He will be greatly missed.
Lance was preceded in death by his parents Jack Sr and Mildred Dilka, along with his special-in-laws Charles and Louise McAlister. Hs is survived by his loving wife, Debbie Dilka; his son, Brian (Marissa) Dilka; grandson Jackson Charles Dilka; siblings Jack Jr (Velma) Dilka and Donna (Mike) Hudran; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the ICU nurses and St. Mary Corwin Hospital who worked hard to help Lance and his family after he fell ill.
No services are planned at this time. In lieu of food and flowers, the family respectfully requests any donations be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), a charity that his family holds dear. Donation information may be found at www.jdrf.org.
