Leonard Lambrecht

Joseph “Leonard” Lambrecht, age 90, of Pueblo, Colorado, formerly of Sterling, Colorado, passed away peacefully in Pueblo, CO on January 22, 2025. He was born on April 22, 1934, in Sterling, Colorado, to Joseph Lambrecht and Anna Lambrecht (Stieb).

Leonard was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a cherished friend. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Patricia; children, Russell Lambrecht (Yolanda), Steven Lambrecht (Marcia), Kathy Vail (Norm), and Laurie Retzlaff; daughters-in-law, Melinda and Debbie; 23 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; sister, Diana Brungardt (David) and brother, Carey Lambrecht (Debbie). Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Anna Lambrecht; sons Terry, Rick, and Kenneth; sister, Jeannette; and brothers, Don and Gene.

Throughout his life, Leonard was known for his kindness, generosity, sense of humor, hard work, and an amazing dedication to his wife and family. Leonard was an expert welder who, as he proudly would say, “retired at the early age of 84!” He loved his God, his family, his friends, and loved helping anyone he could, without ever needing to hear a thank you. Leonard was a man of few words, but when he did have something to say, people listened. He always led by example, not by idle words. His sense of humor was quiet, but profound, and he could tell the best jokes. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service to celebrate Leonard will be held on Monday, March 3rd at 11:00 am at the Wildwood Bible Church, 406 Colorado Avenue, Merino, Colorado. The service will be livestreamed and can be viewed by clicking on the Wildwood Bible Church Facebook page.
