Merwin Earl Hicks was born in Pueblo, Colorado to Rosa Lee Taylor-Hicks and Arthur William Hicks.
Merwin is survived by his loving Wife, Loretta Briggs-Hicks; Sister, Nancy Spann, of Pueblo; Aunt Elgie Powell, of New York; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his Mother, Rosie Lee Hicks: Father, Arthur W. Hicks, Sr. and his Brother Arthur “Artie” W. Hicks, Jr.
Merwin graduated from South High School in Pueblo. He found his talents there in their Graphic Arts Program and became an award winning Artisan in Woodworking and Jewelry Design. His creations are a lasting reminder of his artistic talent.
Merwin made a career out of his passion for cooking. He cooked at numerous establishments in Pueblo, Colorado Springs and on the Western Slope. He also cooked for many family and friends gatherings.
Merwin had a lifetime love for all kinds of music and dancing. He is surely the newest star dancing in the Heavens. His fun and loving spirit will be missed.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service was held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 3, 2024 in the Davis Memorial Chapel.
