Philip Harold Wolfe passed away on December 4, 2024. He was born January 18, 1936, in Yuma, Colorado. After living in Grand Junction for most of his life, he moved to Pueblo in 1965 to begin work at Triplex Industries, where he met Marcia, his beloved wife of 54 years. Shortly after their marriage, Phil went to work for the Colorado Highway Department (now CDOT). He retired from CDOT in 1998 after 30 years working both as an engineer and in project budgeting.
Phil and Marcia taught Sunday School together for over 50 years. Teaching children about the love of God was Phil’s greatest joy. He also loved to fish, paint, build models of WWII airplanes, and to research family history. Phil never met a stranger. He will be remembered for his catch-phrase, “Keep smiling!” and most of all for his kindness.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Marcia Ann Wolfe; his parents, Alice Dacre Dunn Wolfe and Westal Allan Wolfe; and his brother, Gordon Wolfe. He is survived by daughters Christie (Kevin) Kurth and Cherie (Kyle) Wing; granddaughter Dacre (Parker Flowers) Kurth; sisters- and brothers-in-law Sally Wolfe, Jane Hoffman, Dave and Judy Parry, and Diana and Jerry Atencio; and by nieces and nephews Sara Wolfe, Jay Wolfe, Alicia Wolfe, Melanie Mascarenas, Christopher Atencio, Joshua Atencio, Jared Atencio, and their families.
A celebration of Phil’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 8, 2025, at King of Kings Lutheran Church, 2561 Vinewood Lane, Pueblo. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to King of Kings Lutheran Church and designated to “Kings Kids Ministries.”
