Sandra Kay Barber passed away unexpectedly on October 2nd, 2024 in Pueblo, Colorado. She was born on March 1st, 1962 in Pueblo.
Sandra loved many things in her life especially fishing, camping and any excuse to drive to the mountains. Shea was a dedicated member of River of Grace church. She was very devout in her church life often leading the women's bible study and helping with the women’s yearly tea. Sandra also helped write Christmas cards for Operation Christmas Child. Outside of her hectic church life was her life as Nana; which she took very seriously babysitting her grandbabies and taking them to cheer and football practice and being “Nana’s Taxi” for any grandbaby that needed a ride to a friend's house. Sandra was a great friend to many and impacted the people she would meet as she had a very caring and loving personality. Most of all Sandra loved her family and she would often carry on about her children's and grandchildren's accomplishments.
Sandra had many phases in her life when it came to careers but often found the best of friends in these careers. She also had trials when it came to her health. In 2016 she lost her leg and fought for her life but stayed strong and overcame the obstacles that God had laid out for her. She became a warrior after this experience.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents Dale E Barber and Alberta M Speer Barber; her uncle, Robert Speer, and her former husband, Steven B. Abeyta. She is survived by her sister, Ellen R Brownlow; her daughters, Tina (Raymond) Hernandez, Emily Abeyta, and Stephanie Abeyta; her grandchildren, Aja James, Ryan James, AJ James, Serena Naranjo, Maribella Naranjo, and Kylian Naranjo; as well as her great-grandchild Mayeli Martinez.
Visitation for Sandra will be held on Monday Oct 7th 2024 from 10 AM until 4 PM at Davis Mortuary, 128 Broadway Ave in Pueblo with cremation to follow. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024 at 10 am at River of Grace Church, 84 South Masters Dr in Pueblo West, CO 81007
